Estimadas vecinas y vecinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por viajar \u2014en la tarde de hoy\u2014 a Montevideo no podr\u00e9 acompa\u00f1arles personalmente en el \u201cHomenaje a los H\u00e9roes del Rinc\u00f3n en el Bicentenario\u201d, no obstante ello quiero, como Intendente, hacer llegar mi saludo y reconocimiento al Partido Colorado por este evento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Batalla del Rinc\u00f3n (de las Gallinas), junto a la de Sarand\u00ed, fueron gestas decisivas de 1825 que reafirmaron la voluntad de independencia de nuestro pueblo. Aquellos hechos, bajo la conducci\u00f3n del General Fructuoso Rivera y de los l\u00edderes de la Cruzada Libertadora, nos recuerdan que ser orientales es mucho m\u00e1s que pertenecer a un pa\u00eds: es encarnar valores, sentimientos y una actitud de rebeld\u00eda creadora que, inspirada en Artigas y sus herederos, abri\u00f3 camino a la libertad, la soberan\u00eda y la dignidad de la patria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conmemorar 200 a\u00f1os de estas batallas no es solo evocar un episodio militar, sino rescatar la memoria oriental como parte viva de nuestro patrimonio. Como expres\u00f3 el pr\u00f3cer, \u201csean los orientales tan ilustrados como valientes\u201d: conocer nuestra historia es una herramienta para ser m\u00e1s libres, \u00fanicos y autodeterminados en un mundo cada d\u00eda m\u00e1s globalizado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En este esp\u00edritu, la Marcha del Bicentenario de Rinc\u00f3n a Sarand\u00ed, organizada por la Asociaci\u00f3n Patri\u00f3tica del Uruguay, a realizarse desde el 4 de octubre con la participaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de un centenar de jinetes de todo el pa\u00eds, constituye tambi\u00e9n un homenaje vivo y popular a los h\u00e9roes de 1825. El hecho de que Fray Bentos sea punto de partida de esa traves\u00eda, y de que forme parte del programa oficial del D\u00eda del Patrimonio, nos llena de orgullo y compromiso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Intendencia de R\u00edo Negro acompa\u00f1a con respeto y reconocimiento todas estas instancias de conmemoraci\u00f3n. Porque recordar lo que fuimos y lo que somos nos ayuda a proyectar lo que podemos llegar a ser. Celebramos los dos siglos de la gesta libertadora de 1825, evocamos los ideales de \u201cque los m\u00e1s infelices sean los m\u00e1s privilegiados\u201d, y reafirmamos hoy, como ayer: \u00a1Orientales, viva la patria!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
